About Me
Sports Medicine Fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Christopher Schumacher, MD, is part of the Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Departments at Penn State Health St. Joseph. Dr. Schumacher earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and an Orthopedics Sports Medicine Fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Schumacher specializes in surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of injuries to bones, joints, muscles, and other soft tissues. Dr. Schumacher also has conducted research and published a number of articles related to sports medicine and orthopedics. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and is Board Eligible.
