About Me
Dr. Allison Barrett is now seeing patients at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She specializes in bariatric surgery, foregut surgery and weight management, and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Barrett is board certified in general surgery and was fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy and bariatric surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She earned her medical degree and a Master of Arts in medical sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Washington University in St. Louis. She completed her residency in general surgery at New York University School of Medicine.
She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Her certifications include basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery and fundamentals of endoscopic surgery.
