Our broad range of programs and services means that you can find the volunteer position that meets your interests, skills, and background.
Cancer Institute volunteer– Visit with patients receiving outpatient chemotherapy treatments. Greet new patients and help them to find their way throughout the Cancer Institute.
Child Life volunteer– Assist Child Life specialists by providing recreational activities to hospitalized patients, helping them feel more comfortable in a scary or unfamiliar environment.
Emergency Department volunteer– Restock rooms and carts, check oxygen tanks, run errands as requested.
Emergency Room Patient Partner volunteers——登记病人在等候区ll as in the Emergency Room beds to see if they need anything, run errands as requested.
Admissions Escort volunteer– Early morning shift. Take new admission patients to their destination. Explain Surgery Waiting Area options.
Family Waiting Area volunteer– Host waiting areas for adult patient families. Provide comfort and support.
Flower Cart volunteer– Deliver flowers from local flower shops to patient rooms.
礼品商店/Penn State Store volunteer– Tap into your creative side by helping create attractive displays and assist customers with finding that perfect gift. Assist with stocking the shelves and run the register.
Guest Ambassador volunteer– Help individuals find their way throughout the Medical Center by providing directions and escorting them to their destination.
Mail Service volunteer– Sort and deliver mail to patients.
Pastoral Services volunteer– Provide the Sacrament of Holy Communion to Catholic patients during their hospitalization.
Patient Experience volunteer– Help create an extraordinary experience for patients and families by listening attentively and empathically, providing emotional support and explaining programs and services to our patients, families or visitors. Offer items from our “Comfort Cart” such as snacks and water to families and patients throughout the hospital.
Pet Therapy volunteer– Bring your four-legged friend to the hospital, deliver joy and comfort to patients, families, and visitors. All pet therapy dogs must be registered through one of the therapy dog organizations listed on our site.
Public Relations Tours volunteer– Conduct tours of the Medical Center, emphasizing specific areas according to interest of group as prearranged through public relations or student services.
Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteer– Provide compassion, support, coffee, snacks, coloring books, and other donations to families of our pediatric patients. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available seven days a week.
